The counsellor will see children of varying ages, although a first session with parents/caregivers would be essential to understand the areas of concern from members of the family.

The loss may be sudden or expected – a shock either way. If you were carer of that person suddenly your role has changed, your life changes – There are many layers of loss and a significant layer is about change

With exposure to a broad range of models of counselling my capacity to respond to a variety of clients with a range of issues is enhanced using an integrated approach.
Psychologially Focused Strategies CBT and Interpersonal therapy sit along side skills I have developed in more contemporary models of counselling using Narrative, Process Oriented, Solution Focused, Expressive therapies (sand tray, symbols, art therapy) and TRTP. The Richards Trauma Process (TRTP) in particular is an innovative way to assist clients to manage past experiences without revisiting the trauma itself and can be life changing.
With extensive experience in a several organisations, and a range of client groups, I offer Professional Supervision to those working in the community sector. My experience includes a range of Social Work roles and also as a Manager & Executive Officer of a Community Organisation for the past 18 years. This includes group supervision for professionals
As an accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) I have the capacity to work with clients with a Mental Health Care Plan from their GP as well as clients from Veterans Affairs with a DVA D904 referral.
Also as part of my vocation I have developed and facilitated psycho-educational workshops for parents, and women in crisis.
